Will the boys of C-1 be successes as Army leaders? After surviving three tacs, three different barracks, nine lost members and the great deke debacle how could we miss? That is, if Bill can get to church in something other than a truck, the girls will leave Jess alone, Pete forgets about the laundry and Zako outgrows his persecution complex. It would help if Darryll could forget the 50's and George could give a decent haircut. Let's hope Wahl will have better uniforms than underwear and that Rick's first statement to his platoon won't be, "Doggonit, I told 'um not to give me this doggone job!" We have to wonder if Wally and Jackson's platoons will ever see a neck. Some of us are going to have to learn a few things like, when to fall out for Ed, there are 49 other states for Texas Dan, when they have had enough for Doc, Nick and Drew and when to rally for Dan the man. A couple of questions pop up like will Contact ever find his pajamas, will the Army ever give Steve a break and how loud can Dan's belches get? Only time will tell whether Chris really is the love-charmed stud and whether Bitts can keep the sarcasm down long enough to get through the first day of branch school. If Chip could pull out 100th night, Dave could soak Uncle Sam for $4000 without trying, Kenton could stop laughing long enough to tell his grandfather joke there is hope for us all. Finally, good luck to Darryll Dan, Chris, Doug and Drew who bit the bullet a bit sooner than the rest of us. Frivolities aside, we are 24, bound by friendship, with a fine future to look forward to and a warm past to cherish.
